Fresh water Filling Up

Thought I had this problem fixed 2 years ago, and is doing it again. The first time it was under the 1 year warranty. The dealership was supposed to have replaced a check valve that was the problem. Got the information from the "RV Doctor" in a RV magazine. I think the check valve may be faulty. Is there some other fix like a shutoff to put inline?

Can you explain the problem more fully?

Sounds like a problem I had. The check valve in the pump was defective which allowed city water to redirect into the fresh water tank and out the overflow. Replacing the pump with an OEM pump solved the problem.

Over a period of a couple of weeks, the fresh water tank will fill up on its own. The lever in the outside cabinet is turned off so no water is supposed to go into fresh water tank. We are hooked up to city water and the check valve must be letting water into the fresh water tank. Where is this check valve located? Is it inside the electric pump that you use when not hooked up to city water?

Yes that would be the one.

We had the same issue, there isn't a check valve to locate, it is the valve with the fill marked or normal, the one you are turning. I took mine apart to see what was going on, it is a 3 way valve all plastic, first make sure it is not pointing to fill and in normal, all the way to normal, turn it a few times with the water on back and forth to clear anything that could be stuck in the valve, a grain of sand etc,I had to replace ours so I just used the water heater bypass valve, and stuck the old one in that location, works fine now. Also make sure you are running a pressure reduced on the hose, that valve will do what you talking about with high pressure.
