RV toilette tissue

Just how important is it to use rv tissue. Will it plug up the black tank? I am wondering if it is really worth the money. What do you think?

We use Scotts single ply. As long as the toilet paper passes the shake test (put a couple of pieces in a jar with water and shake and see if it breaks apart) it will do fine. Oh, and Charming double ply extra soft will not pass this test I don't think!!

Angel Soft is the management's preference. It passes the "shake" test and hasn't caused an issue after five years of usage.

There was a test done by some magazine a year or two ago, but don't remember which one. I do remember that Angel Soft and Scott were two of the highest rated for dissolving in the shake test. And Charmin was one of the slower to dissolve.
We also use Angel Soft.

Agree, use a paper that passes the test. You can do it yourself, just to be sure.

And, we practice old boating tricks/requirements. More water, less paper. Translated that means, (excuse the graphics here)

tinkle paper in the trash can

the heavily used paper in the black tank.

Period, always, never change the methodology.

More water, less paper. Those that have been around the MOC for a few years are probably real sick of hearing my chants, sorry!

Same as Michael and Kat! Angel Soft and Happy Camper! Haven't had a problem since we started using the two unless you count the time that I left the drain closed and the black tank flush on! OOPS!

Kirkland here. We use it at the stick house, which is on a septic tank. You gotta figure, if it's rated for septic....which basically never gets dumped/pumped....only when needed, then it is sure to be OK for a black tank that does get dumped. I also did the shake test with it, and it broke down within 10 minutes, to just a "milky solution" so I was happy. No problems yet!

WOW. We have only used the special paper from CW. A friend of ours used regular paper in his SOB TT one time, and it plugged his tank solid on his first ever trip. The way he got it clear was he got ran into by a bulldozer on a trailer on the way home, and his insurance totaled his TT, and bought him a new one!!

Using CW toilet paper is a waste of money. Angel Soft has been our choice since 2001, full time.
