Our first Montana - Our new rig

We had to make a stop for late lunch on the way home. Is there a better place to stop? We didn't think so!

Congratulations on your new rig!
I hope you get many enjoyable years from it;
And you are correct, that is a great place for a stop.

CammillaMichael - we had to tow the trailer right past your place on the way home. We went along 54 (actually getting of at 56) from I75, going right through Land 'O Lakes, to get home. Maybe we will see you on the road or at some campsite, someday.

CATCRAW - we're having fun deciding which cupboards will hold what. It turns out we have WAY more storage now than stuff to fill them. And that's the way I want it!

After church today I had to get up on the trailer with my chainsaw to cut back a bunch of branches from the oak that overhangs the road. This trailer is rather taller than our old Class C, it seems!

I am so excited for you guys - sounds like you are already settling in and getting ready to hit the road. I don't plan on filling all the storage either - but then again I said the same thing with our last 5th wheel.

Our new Montana is arriving today, they are delivering it to us and I guess the rest of the week will be moving in just like you guys - can't wait to take it on the first trip.

Enjoy all the travels ahead of you!

I'm hoping I can book into someplace this weekend (short notice for a long weekend though) as a shakedown cruise. I really don't want our 2,000 mile trip to our B&B on Canada's East Coast to be the shakedown where we find out all the problems!

I'm thinking of trying to get into Lazydays Campground in Seffner because Camping World is right there if we need something. And I've got a coupon for 2 free nights!

And we are booked for 3 nights - two free. It is less than an hour's drive so if we somehow forget something important we can run home for it. And it we need a part or accessory, Camping World is right there.

Thanks Bill (and/or Cindy). My only concern is that my backing up skills are rusty - it's been 12 years since I last owned a big trailer - and all the sites are back-in it seems.

I guess I have to re-learn sometime. I just wish it wasn't going to be someplace quite so "public". (Wish there was a "rolls eyes" smilie)

You will do just fine - just take your time and don't worry about anyone else. You know the old saying - Practice makes perfect! Enjoy and have fun!

I already had to back it into the storage site. It took me a few tries to figure out the swing clearance. The site is awkwardly situated on the outside of a curve with trailers also stored on the inside of the curve/circle.

Getting the trailer straight, once I started in the right spot to clear the stuff in the middle, was a breeze!

However, my DW hates to back trailers, anywhere, anytime, any type (hitch or 5er). She had thought to take the trailer to the campsite in the afternoon before I get off work, but when she heard it wasn't a pull-thru she decided against that idea.
