When I helped wisterdog get his slides in the other day I used my 18 volt DeWalt drill. I started on high speed and the slide went in pretty slow but the drill started to die rapidly. So I shifted it into low speed mode and it got even slower but it extended the battery life considerably. Even so it still took 3 batteries to finish the job. I think that isolating one slide at a time works the best.

Attempting to "select" one slide has not worked too well for me...tried once and strange things seemed to happen...for example, the slides I had "turned off" seemed to start moving while the one I had selected did not move! Then when I tried to run the other slides back in they seemed to have decided to stay in place. Only after I selected all of the slides to move did I finally get them to do what I wanted them to do. No more individual selections for me!

If you have the half turn valves you MUST turn them all the way to the stops. If they are open even a tiny bit the slides will move. I found out that situation when I installed the new half turn manifold after removing the pin valve manifold.
