Just wanted to introduce myself, My name is Jake. I have a wife, Robin, 2 sons, one active duty ARMY, and a 14 year old still with us, Dog-Malttese(cody). We just ordered a new Mountaineer 307RKD from the Chicago RV show. Traded in a Crusier TT. Never pulled a 5er before, if I can handele the TT I should be fine with the 5er. I have '05 GMC 2500HD with the Duramax/Allison crew cab. It towed the TT with little effort. Anyone have any info on the Mountaineer line? Seems like a big bang for the buck.

I'll be looking forward to reading and posting on this site!

You are right. If you can handle a TT you can sure handle a 5er. Keystone makes some great RV units and Mountaineer is one of them. Hope you get more out of your unit than you ever dreamed. You seem to have plenty truck to pull it with.

You are in the right place to get support, creative synergy, and friendship. The majority of the members are Montana owners, but there are a goodly number of Mountaineer owners to help with unit specific issues.

This is a peaceful forum as compared to others that enter into brand bashing and inflamatory statements. I think you will get a lot here. Welcome and Happy RVing...

Jakesters, you'll fit right in at this forum as you used one of our favorite sayings, 'big bang for the buck'. That's the general opinion of most owners who like their Montana/Mountaineer rigs. There are Mountaineer owners on the forum and I'm sure they'll be along to welcome you. Welcome!

Welcome! We have an older model (2000) Mountaineer TT. Mountaineer used to be the Montana TT line. Ours actually has a big Montana logo and then one that say's Mountaineer by Montana. When Montana built a new factory just for Mountaineers, they expanded their product line to include 5ers. We have been EXTREMELY happy with ours and we've seen LOTS of improvements and features added by Montana (some as options - some as standard).

Congratulations, Jake and Robin, and welcome aboard! The Mountaineers are really sweet rigs. We have many happy Mountaineer owners here. Don't hesitate to ask questions. That and making lots of new good friends is what this forum is all about.
