Replacing Norcold 1210 with Residential Refer in 2013 3625 RE

I'm considering replacing my Norcold 1210 with a Samsung 17.5 cu ft counter depth french door unit as I've just had my third unit failure and I'm done with Norcold. In measuring for the Samsung unit it looks like it will stick out an additional 3-4 inches beyond my present unit. And that assumes the new unit goes all the way to the back wall of the slideout. This leaves no room for the 2" of ventilation space recommended. Has anyone done this conversion on a unit similar to mine and is there another unit that might fit better. The Samsung model number is RF18HFENBSG and its depth with doors is 30.5625 inches. Thanks for any insight.

We replace our 1210 gas/ac burner after a fire with this unit a couple years ago, it appears to be the same as installed by Keystone on new models. It does have minimal backside clearance(probably 1" or so) but so it would in home installation. It does stick out a little more but does not create any problems. RV repair shop installed and secured also did woodwork. Looks like factory installed. Do need to tie refer doors shut, swim noodle for freezer. We really love it, frozen ice cream and ice maker.
Our RV is a 2012 3455SA

After our second cooling unit was replaced, I installed the ARP device, and our fridge is and has been working better than it ever had. Our first failure was crystal buildup that plugged the system, and the second failure was a leak. That was all in 2015, and it has been good since. I also like the feature of the gas mode that keeps the fridge working without 120 volts, and not having to have an inverter installed in addition to the fridge install. For less than $250, our fridge is protected from the overheat issues that cause these units to fail, and you will have excellent support from the owners of ARP. I see that they now have an even newer model that has additional functions. I have no connection with this product except being a customer.

Frig control for potential heat buildup. Works with dometic and Norcold. On-line search will provide detailed info and purchase options. Absorption Refrigeration Protective is what I believe ARP stands for.

I installed a RF197 in 2009 in my Everest has been great. Mine is in the slide out. The front of door sticks out 4ins from the trim.In my slide out I have a good 5ins a the top and a good 2ins on the sides for air space. I have mine pushed to the back touches at top and a gap at the bottom of fridge also may have to shim rear eheels to keep front plumb.I held the fridge down at the back with screws and have conduent pipe clamps on the front wheels. Also have guides screwed on the floor for side movment. The advantage with this install one has lots of room through the vents to secure the fridge.Just blank of the vents I used alloy duct tape and insulation. I also placed an inner tube between the roof and top of roof just incase of any bounce. Den.
