awning issue

When retracting my awning it does not seat in the bracket on the coach. It appears to be bent. Not sure if it is or the awning material is rolling up for some reason. Has anyone had this issue?? I have a 2015 3582 I believe. Thank you

There was a discussion on this phenomenon just last month. Look here
http://www.montanaowners.com/forums/...ad.php?t=74517

The awning will slide down the track of the roller due to wind.

Kevin and Carl-- It could be that the arms are tweaked a little from the awning being out and a wind gust pushed it up and over a little bit. It then will not line up with the framing on the side of the unit when retracted. We had a problem with a dust devil coming through the campground we were staying at in AZ and it lifted and pushed Glenn Strom's awning arms over enough he could not close his. We did a temp fix on them by hooking a tow strap to the awning arm and pulling it back into place with a tow vehicle. It worked but is not recommended. LOL As Carl stated it could be that the fabric has moved down the roller just enough to throw it out of alignment when retracting. That is also an easy fix but it takes more than one person to do this one also.

Just had the same problem. The fix for mine was the fabric at the roller moved in the slot. Measure each side at the roller end, in my case one side was 1/4 inch closer to the end of the roller than the other. I pulled on the shorter end and moved it to even each side. As strang as it sounds that fixed the problem. Hard to beleave that a 1/4 inch would cause the arms to be so far out of wack.

That's true, it doesn't take much. On our old rig I didn't think that was what it was because it didn't look off. But measuring it showed it was off slightly and tugging it over solved it.

Well if you go with the strap to your TV approach, PLEASE make sure someone is getting a video of it. I am not thinking instructional purposes
