Just saw this post! Glad you're back up and running. We JUST went through this whole experience beginning on our Thanksgiving trip. The motor gears were completely stripped so we replaced it but then it would strain and slip at a specific point upon extending. Replaced the gearbox even though the internal gears looked good, slipping continued. Removed the driver leg which we could move up and down manually, then the follower leg which we could NOT move manually. Ordered a follower leg from eTrailer, installed it and we're up and running again! Although it's a pain to deal with, it's great learning how to troubleshoot and make repairs on our own instead of paying big bucks to a dealer to do the same! Happy travels!

If you had disassembled the leg, pretty easy if you were capable of removing it, you could have gotten replacement gear(s) or whatever from Venture. The pieces parts are even cheaper than a whole new leg.

yea....we looked into replacement parts...but decided in the end to go new since the leg was less than 100 dollars....not sure I had the press or other tools that you might have needed to replace all the gears, etc....thought maybe of attempting to disassemble for the educational part of it...I like trying to figure things out like that....the whole process was interesting..learned a lot ....but glad got new part for Monty....she deserved it anyway....lol...thanks to everyone for their help and suggestions....that is what is so great about this forum....

Stan, neither of the bevel gears are a press fit on the legs.
