3791RD....odd place for a drain

Put the cover on the right today. Took almost 3 months for cover to come in.

Found a drain under the rear den. Have no idea what that is for. There is no water anywhere near it up above. Opened it and some water drained.

Any ideas what it's for??

Ah...maybe. I'm not sure where the tank is. I assumed all the drains were mid to up front of the rig not so far in rear.

Thanks!

Yup... Chances are is that is the fresh water low point drain for the fresh water tank. It allows draining for cleaning out, draining, then storage.

Makes sense....there was no pink stuff when drained.

Only thing I need to do now is run the ice maker with the pink stuff. I drained the ice maker drain and pumped in the antifreeze....just forgot to run the ice maker.

The more complicated they get the more things that can be missed. After the first time I went thru it I made a list to make it easier next time. About the time I had it down to a science we went full time and never did it again.

Definitely the fresh water tank drain, we boondock a lot as I play in a bluegrass band all summer. Thus we fill up our fresh water tank prior to taking off for the festivals, I open the drain just prior to leaving the festival to let the remaining water drain out. Keep it fresh so we have no plumbing smell issues.

I usually put a valve on the drain to facilitate quick opening and closing without having to t tape the threads on the drain cap. On the 3790rd the cap had a rubber gasket insert and thus doesn't need ttape or a valve.

BTW the trailer tows great with the tank full....

I would not be too concerned about taping a plastic to plastic fitting.
