Replacing Drawers in 3295rk

I couldn't take it any more! I started to replace all my drawers a couple of days ago. I replaced the drawers with 1/2" Baltic birch plywood but reused the Oak fronts. I have 10 of the 21 done. I will also be adding 2 drawers to the cabinet used for the fireplace as I don't have one.
I still do not believe the used exterior plywood for the back of the drawers. Take about low grade mat'l for Montana. Do they still use this in the newer units?

Great looking job. I would like to know how much more they weight because our weight is real close to the limit.
Thanks for posting.

Drifty1,
Great looking boxes looks like Baltic Bearch. did you have to do any mods on the cabinet for the accuraride FE to attach them.

I did not modify the back supports inside the cabinets,I wanted to but the added weight was part of the reason I didn't change that area. You might look behind the drawers next time you have one out and see how they save weight. We do not carry much extra weight as we spend a week or less camping. Just to see how much more the drawers weight I will put one on the scale tomorrow. The glides I use are from Gliderite.com. They cost a lot less then Accuraride but are good quality.

Larry,
They look good. The glides look more substantial then the OEM stuff. Good job. If you're looking for work.......

Thanks for posting both the text and the pics. Makes it really nice.

I just checked the weight difference on two drawers 22.5"w x 16"deep and with the new glides included the weight 3.8# more they the old ones. With that said my 21 drawers x 3.5# avg. adds 73# to my trailer. So I figure that if you still have a older TV in your rig and switch to a LCD TV you would save that weight. I need to weight my rig this fall before before I move it on to the new asphalt parking spot next to my drive way. I am hoping they can pave it today if the rain holds up.
