You have to be careful because full time use will cause the decals to peel off.

We use ours for recreational use 24/7/365. Guess that because we are retired and we play every day. Personally, we've found the work to maintain our Big Sky is a pittance compared to the work that we had to put into maintaining our stick house.

Going on 5 years in our '06 3400RL! Yes, there are maintenance issues in anything you "live" in, but wouldn't change a thing, or make. Love our Montana!

There is only a one year warranty any way. So what's the problem with living in them?.

I don't think there is an issue with living in the montana. Like anything, the more you live in it, the more usage it gets and more requirement to do maintenance on its systems. John

We are just coming up on 5 years in our 06, 3400RL. We are impressed byhow everything has held up.yes door hinges need to be tightened to replaced occasionally. We have had 2 leaks in the tanks, husband was able to repair successfully, decals are fine, and we love it as much as the day we got it. So it is very possible to live in these RVs and we are looking forward to the next 5 years

We have been living in our 3400RL for 4 years now. The first year and a half we took it out camping, But now its just parked. It was to hard taking all the extra stuff out, and moving the deck and fence. and then setting back up again. So now we have a 24ft Springdale to go camping in.

I believe the reason that Keystone does not advertise that is for full time use is partly because of the warranty. I lived in my previous 5th wheel for 2 years and it held up really well. If I could talk my wife into full time I would leave tomorrow. Enjoy your Montana.

So what makes a high end 5th wheel better than the Montana's? I know they weigh a lot more. But other than that, all parts are the same manufacturers. Domestic, thetford, coleman, a&e or Colorado., dexter or Alcoa, . So really, what makes a high end better. Mobile Suites, Teton, etc?...

One BIG difference is the stronger Frames they do not use Lippert frames ,they are mostly double stacked tube frames as opposed to I beam and that is why they can use Bigfoot 4 point auto level as opposed to 6 point like Montana and they come with Disc brakes better suspension, higher quality fixtures and Furniture,to name a few things

Folks tend forget that DRV uses Lippert Frames, they are just built to DRV specs, just like Lippert builds Montana frames to Keystones specs, our SOB is built on a Lippert frame built to our Manufactures's specs.
If you're brave enough you can Full Time in a Pop-up or anything else. Just depends on how much you want to pay. Look at the number on this forum that are Full Timing in their Monty.

I have seen a SOB motorhome that was 20 years old and had over 150000 mile on it and everything works great. and a motorhome of the same age with only 20000 miles and everything breaks. witch tells me buy the one with more miles then you know it didn't sit. because when it comes to RV's a sitting RV means a broken RV

Drv walls are also thicker than almost any rv and they use mineral wool insulation instead of fiberglass and sheet foam. John
