Hitch question/comparison
After experiencing some of our well maintained interstates (?) on our recent return from Arizona, I've decided that something must be better. So, mindful that a lot of MOC members have recommended Trailer Saver hitches, I'm also looking at other options. The only one I've found so far is the Air Safe from High End Markets and it looks to be substantial.
Has anyone tried an Air Safe or compared one to a Trailer Saver? At $2,595 they look to be a little pricey, but I haven't checked pricing yet for a comparable Trailer Saver. I currently have a Mor/Ryde pin box which I assume can be used with either hitch.
Any and all input will be appreciated! We're tired of the beating the Monty is taking.

We have a Trailers Saver "TS3" and a Mor/Ryde pinbox. The combination works as advertised. We like it.

Walt,
Do you recall what the Trailer Saver cost was?

We also have a Trailer Saver "BD3" and a Mor/Ryde pinbox. We sure notice the difference between our old hitch towing our previous 5th wheel and the Trailer Saver towing the Montana. We purchased it last May and it was $2394 delivered. Well worth the money in our opinion.

Mike,
we have the TS3 installed on our TV. Since the MDT we use has air bag rear suspension our truck builder would not put anything else but the TS3 on it so the shock will be absorbed in the hitch before it gets to the trailer pin.
It is nice to be able to adjust the ride as you are driving so if there is a rough road you can soften the hitch up to help the trailer out. Combined with the Mor-Ryde hitch it really makes a big difference. My wife noticed right away with the Mor-Ryde when we first picked up the new trailer.
The hitch installed on the truck was under $3,000. You can probably get a new hitch for around $2,500 and install it yourself.
Good Luck!
Les

I don't remember the cost but $2000 to $3000 is the right ballpark. It depends on the options you choose. If you have hitch rails in your truck already, an installation is simple unless you need to wire the optional on-board compressor.
Good luck.

We had the Trailer Saver TS3 installed in September 2003. At the time we paid $1695 installed at an Escapee RV Club Escapade which was being held in Goshen, IN. Though we thought that was pricey at the time, it was well worth the money. We haven't added anything else to the ride of the rig except MOR/ryde Individual suspension axles.
