Slide Gaskets

When we put out our slides all of the gaskets do not land extended and flat againg the slide. Some of the gaskets remain turned in towards the Monty. Is this normal? If not what have you done to correct it? I have been using the awning (metal pole) thing to turn it out the way they are supposed to be, but I am afraid I am going to tear a gasket.

Colleen, someone ( I'm sorry I can't remember who ) mentioned leaving the entry door open while extending and retracting the slides. This alieviates the inside and outside pressure differential, when the slide move. I don't know if this is what is causing your problem, but it's something to try.

We learned shortly after we bought our 2000 Montana that you sometimes have to "train" the rubber. When it doesn't all go outward, slide a slim ruler (something slim) between the rubber and the wall and work the edge of the rubber outward. It really works. After awhile the rubber just seems to come out by itself. You may have to do this several times.
