We did it!! New fiver on the way!!

Well, after a couple weeks of negotiations, we finalized the deal last night on our 2006 Mountaineer 319BHD. I am picking it up a week from tomorrow at the dealer in S. California. My wife and kids are so excited it's almost like x-mas around here. Looks like I will have to change my signature. I have only been on this board a short time but have learned tons of good info thanks to the many posters here. I look forward to contributing my share of cyber conversation with you all in the future...

Congratulations Bruce,
You can read the excitment in your post. We have spent all our adult life Rving with the kids before they all grew up and went on their own ways. Camping in the great outdoors is a great way for familes to spend some quality time together.
Have fun and enjoy.

Congratulations on the new rig and we RVed with our Kids ever since they were babies and when I finally got a bunk bed model Fiver, back in 94 , that was so great for everyone to have a made up bed and you are going to love the fact your kids have their own beds.

Enjoy that new RV and we wish you many happy years with it. My kids still live at home but they are too old to come with us now so when I sold my bunk bed unit 2 years ago, I had tears in my eyes because of all the happy memories. All the best and look forward to hearing about all the good times you are going to have, Don.

Congratulations, Bruce, on your new Mountaineer. Best of luck to everyone waiting to do a PDI. Sounds like Keystone is doing a much better job with the new trailers.

Here's the latest update. I drove the 400 miles last Sunday and spent the night in a hotel in CA..... Makes me appreciate RVing even more!! Went to the Dealership first thing Monday a.m. and did the P.D.I., signed the paperwork and took delivery of the new Mountaineer... The dealership treated me great, the rig was clean as you would expect. The only issue I found was the auto fantastic fan in the living area would not turn on. A tech had it fixed in a matter of minutes (loose connection) I then followed a deliver driver who towed the fiver to the AZ border where I actually took delivery of it. Finally around 8 p.m. it was hooked to my truck and I was off the remaining 200 miles to home. I wasn't on the freeway 1/2 mile and noticed how much nicer this rig pulls compared to my old travel trailer. Now I know why people love towing a fifth wheel so much compared to a TT. Arrived home around 11:30 p.m. and left the rig on the street hooked to my truck in front of the house. The next morning was pretty exciting for the kids to wake up and see the beast parked out front. We were all so excited we whipped some coffee and bagels and had breakfast in the fiver....Life is good.. When I get some time I will take pics and get them posted. Thanks for all the encouraging words through this process...Best regards...Bruce
