Rickfox, don't go to any trouble to get me an answer. I did adjust the speakers as you suggested. This does increase the volume of each speaker, I am satisfied that the quality of the unit is just less than what I would expect from Keystone and being the number 1 selling unit that they would try to put a better quality unit in their RV's. I hate to trash a working unit to buy a better unit, but if that's what I have to do, I will do it.
Thanks for the reply

Helen is a singer( sweet Adelines) and plays a couple of musical instruments and is very picky. I on the other hand after working in a white noise enviroment for many years have severe high frequency hearing loss and almost anything sounds good to me.We played around with the 3000 system in the 3400 at the Rv show last week and I thought it sounded pretty good..however Helen looked up at the speakers and gave me the the thumbs down signal..that is not a good thing. If the speakers in this unit are anything like the el cheapos in our last unit replacing them will improve the sound quality greatly and I removed the quality speakers when we sold our TT and put the el cheapos back in..

As Quest can take their Q1,2,3000 models and store them where the sun doesn't shine. I still don't understand how they can pretend to offer a quality product and then not back it.
I also don't understand how a company like Keystone can offer this piece of junk on their units.I had trouble with mine 30 days past warranty, and when contacted Quest told me Too bad, it's out of warranty. Still have it, and when I go past their offices on of theser fine years, I'm going to plant it on their front lawn with a lemon tree for company. I'll stay with JVC from now on.
We picked up our new Montana 06 3670 December 23rd and threw the quest 3000 and the speakers in the garbage December 24th! What little sound that came out of the speakers was horrible and the DVD player wouldn't play most of our DVDs! We replaced it with a Sony home Entertainment unit. The speakers didn't fit inside the cabinet on top if the TV, but they did fit mounted on the outside of the cabinet. The big bass we put in the cabinet below the desk. It sounds wonderful and the installation actually looks like it was always there!

Rich,
My suggestion is dont waste your time on the Quest unit. I think your time would be better spent on doing research to find a quality unit for your new coach. As you know I have had my Quest unit replaced 2x's already and in April the 3rd will be installed. If this unit is no better, I am going to upgrade to something of higher quality. Again, just my opinion...

Montana Sky.. I know you are correct, there is nearly unanimous agreement that the quest unit leaves much to be desired. Helen likes her music so I don't think the quest will have a very long life span in the unit. One of our kids works at a shop that installs auto stero systems and he alreay can't wait to get his hand on it.

Every new RV I have ever bought came with a junk audio system. I guess it's an area where the RV
manufacturer increases his profit margin. The Auto companies do the same. I have the 6 CD upgrade system on my 05 F350 Lariat which is a 600 (Canadian) dollar option and my son's 300 dollar after market system sounds far superior.

Hi guys, been off the air for a couple of days. I can't believe the complaints about the Quest units and Keystone is not willing to do something about it. Maybe we should ship all these units back to Keystone. Do you think anyone would care?

David,
I like your idea. If we start sending Keystone all the things back we don't like, maybe they will change that part. We can keep doing this until we get the brands we (the MOC Members) want. LOL!!

I am watching this thread. I specified the QR3000 vs the 1000/2000 unit in my Montana. I had recieved good feedback that, while the 1000/2000 were absolute junk, the 3000 was a totally different animal. I'm willing to give it a try. Haven't really heard anyone - except yvonnenid (and that could have been the same problem that rvfirefighter finally solved) - really trash the 3000 system. I can work with the speakers (replace if necessary). But I will have to start hearing more complaints than I am right now, specifically about the 3000 internal system components, like we all heard about on the 1000/2000s, and not about Quest in general, before I change my mind on this unit.
