roof issue
Hello,
I have a new montana 3790 rd. I never got up on the roof until I got it home the first time. It looks like the rubber roof is coming loose at 4 foot seems where the plywood seems would be. They go all the way across the width of the camper. I took it back to dealer and they got with keystone. They both are telling me everything is ok and this is more common with new campers. I have had 3 other 5th Wheels previuos to this one. None of the others had this problem. Any thoughts.
Thanks,
Stuart

Yup. That response from the dealer & Keystone is a well used classic... "we've never seen that before" and "it's designed that way". I call BS!

The roof isn't leaking so Keystone isnt going to consider this a problem. Staples coming up aren't a problem. Keystone won't fix that either. Keystones attitude is if it isn't leaking it not a problem.

From the Keystone Owners Manual, p79:
"In most cases, the roof assembly consists of the interior paneling, a truss system, insulation, roof decking (plywood, OSB) and a rubber roof or TPO which is glued t the roof decking. Because of the manufacturing process, air pockets and/or visible spot may be seen in the roof material. These visible spots can be caused by debris (wood, staples, screws, etc.) that are between the roof material and decking or by imperfections occurring during the roof material manufacturer. In most cases, these are considered cosmetic in nature and seldom require any corrective action."
Not saying it is right, but that is their position. I don't really understand why they cannot clean "debris" off before applying the roof.
Forest River replaced the roof on my last unit because of staples coming up.

Have had minor roof bubbles on the last two rigs. Common complaint. Have never had any problems because of them.

Same here. I can look at my roof and tell you where the seams are. It hasn't been a problem for me so far.

Same here as well. Looks kind of crappy. My roof material is raised in three places the width of the roof and about one or two inches either side of the plywood seams. No issue so far after four years. Did see an older montana heading southeast on Texas 287 west of Wichita Falls that had its front roof inflated like a pregnant guppy. Obiously that owner doesn't check his front roof seam!

I was told it was material that covered the seams between the plywood. Therefore if there were any movement it would not hurt the roof material. On my unit I see them every so often going from side to side. The roof is one long piece and I don't see it coming loose at those seams.

Roof membrane on our KZ-New Vision was a much thicker heavier material. No blac streak and never an issue in 13 years. Our Montana has a paper thin roof, staples showing and just feels and looks so fragile...
Have any of you seen the roof membrane LIFTING AS THEY ARE pulled down the hiway?
