RV Parks in Harlingen, Tx

We are considering a winter stay in Harlingen, Tx or close proximity either the rest of this season or next years. Have any of you guys ever stayed there and have a favorite? I'd appreciate your input. Thanks

We've stayed in Weslaco which is a few miles west of there at Country Sunshine 3 years in a row and it was ok, except a little pricey. We are in Mission this year at the Chimney RV Park. Have been here 2 months an love it. We are right on the Rio Grande River and we feel very safe as this is where the Border Patrol launch their boats and 4 wheelers. The park is very clean and quiet. If you come over to check it out, say hi. We're the first Montana you'll see when you enter the park.

We went to Harlingen one winter. Don't remember the park. Had reservations for 3 weeks, left after 10 days because of the incessant wind. If you have slide out awnings, you'll want to put something over them to stop the flapping.

We stayed at Palmdale RV park about 5 years ago (see http://www.palmdalervresort.com/). Park was great but as previously commented very windy.

Have a look at Bentsen Palm Village RV Resort in Harlingen. They have a good website. We enjoyed our years there.

We stayed in Fig Tree RV Park about five years ago. It was a Good Sam and Passport park. As noted...was a bit windy.

We are familiar with Paradise Park down there. Nice place but do a trip advisor search for more info....

We are at Retama Village in Mission. It is privately owned lots but there are some rentals. It is located next door to Bentsen Palm Village RV Resort [not listed in the RGV catalog].

I am going to retract my recommendation of Chimney RV Park. I will not go into details, but they pulled a "bait & switch" on us so we will be leaving this park for good in 3 weeks. We are paid up until then or we would leave immediately.
