Shades

I just did a search on the Day & Night Shades, and found a lot of information on repair and restringing them. However, did not find any thing on my recent probem. On our last trip, the large picture window shade fell loose up at the top right corner. It was determinded that the screw that holds it to the wall pulled out. My question is, has anyone else had this problem, and is it because it was too tight on the adjustment wheel? It appears to be an easy fix, once the valance is moved out of the way. DW says, let the dealer fix it since it's still under warranty. So that's what we'll do. I was just wondering if this may be a comman problem with the shades, and if others have had the same problem...Thanks Joe

We had the very same problem, and our fix was to put wall anchors in the wall and put the screws back in. The screws were angled into the corner, not the way it should have been done, but the way they did it, so we just copied. We also put more screws in the middle valance into the cabinetry.

This has been holding now for 3 years.

Ditto simonsrf. Why they would possibly think only 2 screws would hold up that big shade is beyond our imagination.

Footloose also uses sewing machine thimbles (metal) as we do, now.
