LCD TV as a $925 option?
I was just told by a dealer that Montana will be deleting the old style TV from the living room entertainment centers and will be offering as a $925 option a 26" LCD HD TV for the living room. Anyone have solid info on this?

Considering the cost of HD it will not be to bad once you negotiate the final price. I would go with it it in a heart beat. But then I am kind of a techy anyway.

My take on this is there is not much to debate as far as the LCD TV being an option. Keystone will increase the price of the television by the amount that it takes to replace the present analog type sets with one capable of receiving a digital signal. The best I remember the FCC has mandated television broadcasts to be digital by March, 2008.
Those of us that have TV's that are analog will have two choices. One will be to view TV by either cable (where available) or by satellite. The other option is to purchase a converter that I have been told will cost about $75.

Does this mean that the LCD HD tv's would have to be taken out before winterizing the Monty? Does it hurt them to get cold?

If that is the cost for the new tv, I sure hope Keystone steps up and uses a good high quality BRAND name tv. The off brand cheap unit I saw in the 3485RL is not worth that kind of money. Can get a much larger and higher quality LCD flat panel from Best Buy for not much more money. How about the surround sound system? I heard they are going with Sony or Toshiba, can anyone confirm that as well??

Confused on this -
Our dealer told us the new shipments after November 1st will most likely have the LCD - with no additional cost (providing they deplete the analog TV stock). Is the $750 option just for the HD version? In other words if you don't select the option - they still put a TV in the living room?

Brad,
You will get a tv in your living room. A better question would be, what type of tv are you going to get in your living room?

I would assume - the TV will most likely be LCD at no additional cost given the change to the cabinet design - and the $750 option is to make that TV a HDTV.
Who knows - not sure what color my fridge will be, shape of the TV, couch sleeper.......guess I'll wait and see. Might even come with that green shag carpet and acrylic knobs on aspen wood cabinets. If I don't like it, I'll roll the deal into a Big Sky .

Walked into a brand new 3400 yesterday at the dealership that had just been delivered a week ago, It had the black Fridge door, of course I did not know that and when I opened the front door I nearly had a heart Attack as there was this very scarry person lunging toward me...My reflection in the fridge door..If I had my trusty 45 handy I may have shot the fridge full of large holes. I do not like that door..at all..

Rich,
lol! I guess it is a good thing Keystone is going back to the "old" version for the fridge. We sure dont want to have our MOC members dying from gun shot injuries. =)

Afraid I have to say I like the door. It has just the right bend to make me look around 40 pounds lighter.

Keep working him Tara - My shopping fun will be over when mine gets here, so I can continue through your fun! (Fleet price - think they would give us a break if we asked them to deliver 80 new Big Skys to the rally!)

I have two LCD TVs in our coach. We do not remove them during the winter. The temperatures for storage on LCDs is below O for most of the LCDs I have seen. However, it is important to let them come up to a normal room temperature before powering them on.

Update from another dealer--he's talking about a 27" LCD TV which will go for an MSRP of $925 based on a price sheet dated 11/27/06. Comments from another dealer suggests a cost price from Montana to dealers of $595 for this option, so that's the price range you will have for negotiation on your price. No idea what happens if you don't take the option, but you may not get any TV at all in the living room. The $925 price also includes the storage drawer behind the LCD TV.
