Over the toilet/space saver unit ?

Has anyone every put in one of those free standing, over the toilet space saver units in the room that just contains the toilet? Not sure it would even fit but thought it might add some extra storage if it would.

We plan to be seasonal RVers and leaving our RV parked so there wouldn't an issue with it being moved and a problem with the space saver moving around.

Are you talking over the toilet? I would want something permanent. Our Mountaineer came with a small overhead cabinet there. The opposite wall however, did not. I made a cabinet to fill that space, and even though it's less than 6" deep, it does provide lots of storage for smaller articles. I thought I had something there, but some of the other models came from the factory with a cabinet there.

Yes, I was talking about one of those that are free standing sit over the toilet. The reason I thought of that was due to not having to attach anything to the wall in fear of doing damage if we tried (and I know husband wouldn't try it - I would have to hire someone to do it and first find out even it a cabinet could be attached to something that would hold it properly). Just thought one of those free standing units would be the easiest way to go. I sure wouldn't do that if we were going to be traveling on the road but since we plan to leave the RV parked I thought this might be a good, easy option (if it would fit). Would take measurements first of course to see. Just wondered if anyone else had done this or thought of doing it.

If you are talking those units with the tension poles that go from floor to ceiling I would absolutely want to be sure the ceiling could take the pressure. Other than that it should work.

Lorraine, I saw some wooden type ones that don't use the poles I don't believe (if I recall correctly). I like the looks of those better. No, I wouldn't want to use those with the poles. I would fear they would wear through and puncture the ceiling eventually! I think the one I saw was like a big cabinet on the top with a shelf underneath and no poles at all above it and it had wooden slats/boards for the side supports that matched as the frame. I think I saw one at Meijers and then maybe in the JC Penny catalog but I will have to check around. Looked really nice if I recall correctly. It wasn't plastic but probably wasn't "real" wood either.
