Bluff Utah to Page AZ

We will be traveling from Bluff, Ut, to Page,Az in a few weeks. The route I have is US 163 to US 160 and then US 89 to Page. I have chosen to not travel AZ 98 that would save about 60 miles. Anyone been on AZ 98 recently--and advice??

Tim: we traveled 98 the other direction from Page to Monument Valley 2 years ago and the road was fine. Perhaps this doesn't qualify as "recent" but it is hard to believe the road deteriorated much since then.
