What's the next great option for our trucks?

The new exciting truck options coming in the next couple of years are looking very interesting. I been reading about many new features we all have been waiting for in our tow vehicles! Self parking trailers, heated with-power tailgates, emblem deicers front and back (Ford Exclusive), power glove box and console doors! Leather trimmed jack handles, self torquing lugs nuts, electric "seat shockers" to keep you from falling asleep! Power sun visors perhaps! I can't wait! What you all think could be next?

I don't think Ford will ever have a heated tail gate like Chevy. 90% of Ford trucks built in the last 15 years are still on the road, the rest made it home.

I think a window between front and back seat, like a limo would be nice

To me the important items are, best weight towing & carrying ability, best brakes possible, best engine brake possible, best usable HP & torque, Then I will be happy to get to lighting, handling, ride, quietness. As for actual new things I am interested in the aluminum body and stronger steel frame.
Oh yeah I guess I would be happy with a new truck.. Overall mine has been and continues to be a good truck.

Would a hole in the floor be good enough. Might make a mess of the front of your camper but a man has gotta do what a mans gotta do.

As for the aluminum truck 2017 I think.

Take out the driver's seat and replace with a Porta Potty. No mess on the front of the camper.

I heard (read?) that Ford & Chevy may team up and design a 8 speed heavy-duty transmission for better towing and better fuel economy. Anyone else heard anything about this are did I just dream it all up?

After leaving the 2001 7.3 350 and moving up to 2015 f 350 6.7 I think it does everything but steer now. Great tow vehicle.

PackerFan-- I put on a fold down ladder on the inside of my tailgate and it works like a champ! If I can find the location of the website again I'll post it here on this thread. It's adjustable for height for different heights of the tailgate off the ground. You screw the self-tapping screws into the bracket/tailgate that holds the ladder I Velcro it down to the inside of the tailgate on the other end instead of using a clip holder for it and when I need to get up in the bed, I just undo the Velcro and flip the ladder down. You climb up on the end of the tailgate. If you want to remove the ladder, you just remove the two clip-pins that hold the ladder to the bracket and off it comes.

The F150s have a tailgate step and the SDs had one but it was discontinued?? At first l thought it was a sissy step. I guess I have became a sissy.

Rondo: I had one of those tailgate ladders you talked about on my previous truck and loved it! I have one for this truck too but I haven't installed it yet. They really do work great. Just though a hydraulic escalator would be sweet!

After having two Ecoboost Fords what I would really like to have would be a SD Ecoboost. I would like to see the 6.7 turned in to a Ecoboost. Detune it to about somewhere about 500 to 600 HP with about 700 to 800 pound feet of torque. I would be standing in line to get one. What are the chances of that, less than zero. It would eat into the diesel sales too much. My new 2.7 Ecoboost is the sweetest engine I have ever had in any vehicle. Oh well forget about it, just ain't going to happen.

Actually heard from the dealer that an 8 to 10 speed transmission might be offered soon in SD Ford. Would like to see a built in hand gun safe built into the console on drivers side. Loved my 2011 PSD DRW and love my 2014 PSD DRW but will be trading for the new Aluminum SD when they are available this fall. As mentioned an Ecoboost big V8 would be nice with high horsepower and torque.
