Rear Hitch

Has anyone tried to put a hitch on the back of their unit. We have a 2004 3670RL and I note that the underside is fully covered. Can I remove the cover to install a hitch. I want to carry a tray and box on the back of our unit for storage.

I asked the factory about installing one and they would not do it or honor any frame damage if I put one on.

I have been trying to install a bicycle rack on mine. (2003). The factory has cut away the lower web of the I beam behind the rear stabilizers. Not very easy to attach to.

I saw a rack in the campground a few weeks back. They had reinforced the stabilizer bar and extened the tube forward to the spare tire holder for stability.

I wouldn't consider towing with that kind of rig. The stabilizer bolts just aren't up to the load.

My bike rack is on hold until my back improves, so photos will take a while.

allimonty .... The dealer removed the underbelly cover and welded the hitch to the frame and installed the electrical wiring for my boat trailer, there was no mention of voided frame warranty. In fact was told that they install quite a few hitches. Looks pretty solid.
