Replacement of Tires
We have a 3295RK that has Tacoma tires. Needing to replace the tires and am having trouble finding the Tacoma tires. We're located in Kansas. Has anyone used Goodyear Wrangler E-rated tires?

Any ST or LT rated tires will work.

I'm with Cat... any decent LT ST rated tire will suffice, on all of my previous trailers, once they wore out I would replace them with LT rated tires. they would seem to last as long as the TR types.

Steve, I just replaced all of mine on my 3400. I decided to go with Les Schwab tires called Towmax, an E rated ST Tire. I did this mainly because Les Schwab is everywhere (out west anyway), and if I have problems with them I should be able to locate a Les Schwab somewhere. They offer free balancing and rotating for life of tire. Just my 2 cents worth. I replaced my factory Missions at 3,000 miles because I lost confidence in them after losing a couple on the Alcan.

We went with BF Goodrich Commercials LTs. My Tacomas were leaking around the rims and were beginning to crack. No more problems with the new BF Goodrich's. They can be found almost anywhere and the prices were good.

Steve -
Keep in mind the ST tires are rated for 65mph maximum. This has been a handicap for me, as this new rig wants to keep up with traffic and I find myself closer to 75mph quite a bit.
The ST tires are designed for trailers and give you a little higher load rating at lower pressures (typical D rated ST tire carries as much load at 65psi as an E rated LT tire carries at 80psi). If you change over to LTs, just make sure you are retaining your total load capacity you are giving up with your ST tires.
Personally, I think my next tires will be the LT type (Wrangler E you discuss or even the Michelin). Montana used to install LT tires on the optional axles upgrades prior to 2005.

If I were you and was looking for tires and recommendations, I'd PM LonnieB (that's his user name). That's his business and he knows a lot about tires. He won't hard sell you but will give his recommendations as to what you should have.
