Spider cracks rear cap
Hello to all, waxing my 2014 Montana last july , I found the right side of the rear cap has spider cracks down the whole side. Dealer said , out of warranty. Called keystone, same thing out of warranty, wont help.
Sent a letter to trailer life, last September, just heard back from trailer life after all this time. They sent letters to keystone but no response from them. Trailer life closed the request. Now my question, I understand that if you go to the Goshen rally in September that maybe they may help me.
I see an easy job to replace the one piece cap, pull molding off , unscrew cap, and replace with new one. If some of you guys have been to that rally, I need your input on if keystone could handle a job like this, and what are my chances of getting it fixed? Thank you

I'm betting you will get the same answer at the rally you and Trailer Life have already received many times. I'd find a boat repair facility and get an opinion and repair cost there. Those cracks on boats are rather common and most often caused by stress. Most often on boats they are expected and ignored unless big.

Unfortunately the dealer and Keystone are 100% correct on a '14 5er that may have been built as early as April/May of '13. Captnjohn's suggestion is about your only viable recourse and is what I faced with our last 5er, an '06 SOB that had spider cracks by 2010 on the nose as well as the rear caps. These spider cracks are in the gel coat and beyond somewhat unsightly, no a structural problem. My fix was to clean well then Polycoat to prevent potential water intrusion then wax regularly. I had the same situation on my Glastron boat too The usual cause - uneven sun heating or stresses induced by bumps and twists, and was something early Corvette car owners suffered as well.

Don't sweat the small stuff. As others have said they are not an issue. Just use the rig and enjoy.

Most marinas have a repair guy that will come to you... might cost less.
