Crack in gelcoat

Have about a 6 inch crack in gelcoat on a
2002-3280. Of course Warranty expired about
3 months ago and it will be about a month till I can get it to a dealer. So I just sealed it to keep out moisture. Any one had
this problem? Stress? or Structural? It is
located on the left side, about 6 inches long extending from the base of the front overhang to the front bedroom slideout.
