Check your Recalls

Just a friendly reminder to keep an eye on your recalls:

http://www.arfc.org/rvs/keystone/montana/recalls.aspx.

Go back to the Keystone main topic level for recalls on other models.

Wow, one of the recent recalls says: "In the affected vehicles, the microwave may start on its own and begin heating when unattended." That's disturbing!

Thanks for the reminder.

Does Keystone notify owners of recalls or do we have to find it out through the good information found here?

This list shows recalls for almost every year, except made in 2012, which is when ours was built (12/5/12). Hope that is a sign of good luck.

I think someone last month had his Frigidaire microwave start up on it's own. That is one of the items on the list with that problem.

Thanks to this thread, it reminded me about the microwave. Since the rig is at the dealer to address other items, I emailed and mentioned the recall and to be sure to check serial numbers.

I found Keystone has a site that shows recall by year as well.

We didn't know about the recall until it happened to us! It started cooking at 2 a.m. while we were sleeping. I was so frightened, having been in a fire years ago. After many calls the next day we discovered the recall as well as the fact that Camping World had failed to register the sale to Keystone so they didn't know to send us the notice. Scary!!

Has anyone had the awning issue mentioned in the 2014 recalls?

I left my books in the RV when we stored it. I wonder if Keystone can tell by my VIN if ours is affected?

I have been waiting until the end of December to find out if my awning is on the 2014 recall. I have an appointment at my selling dealer in Tampa and I am going to have them check it when they are fixing a couple of other things.

I don't recall seeing any individual paperwork for my awning, but I might check again.

Wow that's an interesting option. I can't even start mine without the manual!

I find it hard to beleive that there has been a recall in every model year from 1999 to 2013 and not one recall in 2012...So what, they really concentrated on quality control in 2012 and then said the heck with this it's too expensive and hard to make sure everything is done right. Let go back to the way we use to do it... Maybe someone forgot to list 2012 by accident...I own a 2012 and I know I'm not that lucky
