Oven problems

Our oven only stays lit for 10 to 25 min then it goes out. First I took out the burner unit, and the thermocoupler and took it in they checked it and I brought it back home installed it and still the stove goes out. So I take the whole stove out and take it in. They have it for 4 days I get it back after they replaced the regulator and still it goes out after 20 min or so. Right now we have it on broyl and it has stayed lit for 45 min. Any Ideas? what it could be? And all this time we have no propane in the trailer cause it is shut off.

does the pilot stay lit when it goes out? If it does then the thermostat is satisfied and is cutting it off on temp. The broiler bypasses the thermostat and keeps burning. If you lose the pilot on bake then you probably have a thermistor problem.

We had similar problem & found out the small flame at the thermocouple was too low. There is an adjustment behind the oven knob to adjust the flame higher.
That ended our problems.

OK the pilot light can stay lit for 12+ hrs if you leave it on pilot. The Broiler will stay lit for well till we turned it off. The oven stays lit above 400* but if you turn it to 300* it goes out within 15 to 20 min. And thanks for the tips I will check out the pilot light control.

My money is on the low pilot light flame. In my business, I drill them out all the time because some are too mild to keep the thermocouple hot. I have a small hand drill kit I use.
I would replace the thermocouple with another new one, that may solve it, otherwise, get a new pilot assembly. Not too expensive.

BROILER???? Wow, our 09 Big Sky doesn't have one of those. Glad they upgraded, sad it wasn't a year sooner!

I believe all of us have the "Broiler" feature, even my 2005. It is the area below the burner. It isn't very tall and not a lot fits there, but that is it.

Um, OK, when oven is set to lower temperatures, isn't the burner supposed to cycle on and off to maintain said temperature?

When yours "goes out", is the pilot still lit? Maybe if you wait a while the burner will come back on to keep the oven at the set temp.

IDK, just a thought.

I think the flame cycles off, then it sucks the pilot gas from the pilot assembly, this cools the thermocouple, causing the millivolt generation to fall below the rated value of the thermocouple, causing the gas to completely shut off to the pilot, as designed. Common with a weak pilot flame.

I thought once for about two seconds about using that space for a broiler, and decided I was playing with fire. (Pun intended!!) And I understand you may have been kidding, too. But grumpys295rkd actually mentions a broiler setting, different from bake, and I just wondered if they have truly made a change in the ovens.

Playing with fire is RIGHT! Anything you put in there is too close to the flame.

Ever since the chicken pot pie caught fire we're very careful about what goes under there.
