Fan and shield for referigerator
Anyone who has a Norcold referigerator that is vented at the top through the wall and not through the roof should have a metal shield and fan to help vent the heat. This is an option that Norcold requires for side vented units. Anyone with their refer in a slide has it vented this way and should check behind the upper vent grill for the shield and fan. If you don't have it, excessive heat can build up in that area. Mine will be installed by my dealer as soon as they get the parts.

Jim,
Is this an add-on, a safety fix (recall item??), warranty issue, or just money out of pocket??

Bingo,
I don't know yet but if it's required, it won't be me.

I haven't taken the vent cover off and looked but I think our 2010 has a fan. I can hear it run from time to time. Maybe this is something they have added in the later models.

The Norcold we have has two fans pointing up, drawing air up from the lower vent, but...the hot air gets trapped between what I believe is the evaporator and the ceiling of the slide. We put in two muffin fans at a cost of about $30 total:
