Drilling into frame in basement

Quick question, can you drill into the frame in the Basement? Isn't it just support for the Bedroom/bathroom floor?

If you mean for like screws and other small holes go for it. I mounted hangers and things using self tappers worked great.

I've used self tapping metal screws to do a lot under there.

Have done the same here. Just little holes for hangers. I used some half-round pipe hangars on the underside of those frame members and have the awning rod and various crank handles stored there. Quickly accessible and out of the way.
