Bath Vent

We have noticed an oddity with our bath room vent (the one over the toilet in our 3400). When in storage, we have it open just a crack to allow for better ventilation, but when we return to check on things, the vent is open a couple of inches at least! Now, if we did not lock the entry door and our storage facility did not have security, I would think someone is playing a joke on us...but we do lock up and do have security. We have installed one of those wind/wx vents over this opening and it is installed with the vent "opening" toward the rear of the unit. Could wind coming from the rear of the unit be lifting the vent lid???

I have noticed ours in the past to be open just a little when sitting. Is it stored outside? if it is it is probably the wind playing tricks on you

racerjoe, yes, we do store in the open...with the fuel companies playing games with us, now we have to contend with the wind!

Agree, they will vibrate open. Not a problem with MaxiAir as far as any water leakage.

Also, another thing that can happen is (if you have no other vents open) when you open or close the outer door, it creates air pressure in the trailer that can cause the vent to open up a bit. I have had this happen on both the 5'er and enclosed utility trailers, especially if the vent is "not quite closed" at which case the crank arm is usually a bit on the "sloppy" side.

We leave the vent in the bath area cracked open a little and on a windy day it will open more

Guess I owe Camilla an apology! Asked her why she had left the vent open so far...fortunately, with the exterior vent covers, not water damage.
