Dinette Change
Each of the two Montana's we have bought had the free standing dinette set. We have been doing some research on changing that to the booth type dinette and found out that it will cost about $850 for the set (plus shipping?????). Ouch!
On Monday, we stopped by the U-Neek RV Center in Kelso, Washington. We talked to the service manager about changing our free-standing set to the booth type dinette. Lo, and behold, he had one that he had removed from a SOB for $350. We had to pay extra for the table mounting hardware but brought to the trailer for just a little over $400. We installed it last night. The DW thinks it makes our living area look larger and it is a lot more comfortable to her than the original chairs.
With the storage under the benches and since it makes into a bed, we are happy with the change.

What are your plans for the dining set you replaced? I'm just curious that if you aren't gonna save this other set you could sell it and get a little money back.

This year, we are spending the summer as Camp Hosts at Yale Lake on the Lewis River at Cougar, Washington. We are 30+ miles from a Safeway or Walmart. So, this spring, we got a small chest type freezer from Sam's Club. Last year, we got rid of the super heavy couch with its inflatable bed (that wouldn't stay inflated) and replaced it with a futon. We just had room for the futon, freezer, and dinette set in the slide-out by putting the table right in the corner.
When we got the booth, we gave the futon to a friend, moved the table to use as a desk and made everything fit.
Pictures to follow.

Brad, how did you like the futon while you had it? We have been thinking of doing that because as you say that couch is heavy and for the few times it would be used as a bed the futon would be fine. The inflating and deflating is hard, just a PITA. Thanks,

We replaced the factory sofa in our 08 3400 with a good quality all hardwood futon. It is the queen size and makes a standard size bed. Much better and lighter too.

Did we enjoy the futon while we had it? Yes. We could open it out to sleep our granddaughter or put a queen size air mattress (my own) on it for larger people. Plus, it only weighed 45 pounds.
Now let's see if I can remember how to upload a photo?????
