Coming out of storage

I have had my Montana 2008 sitting at a lot for over a year. What should I do to get it back in fighting shape? Because of some work issues I could not use it.

Thanks!

Pat

I would start by making sure the Battery is in good shape. If possible put it on a charger or even take it to an automotive shop that can test the battery. I would then reinstall the battery and hook up 110 if you have it otherwise check the hydralic fluid level and then open the slides. Pull the anode rod from the hot water tank and check it. You might even get one of those wand cleaners and wash out the Hot water tank. Put some water in the fresh water tank and run some fresh water and check for leaks. If your water smells you may want to clean out your tanks using some bleach. Make sure your hot water tank is full by opening the pressure relief value at the top of the HW tank and turn the hot water tank on and heat up some water. Check the refrigerator for operation to make sure it is cooling.
Check tire pressures. Look for any cracking around the side walls of the tires.
Hook up the electrical to a tow vehicle and check brake and tail lights.
Sitting for so long sometimes things get corrodided and may have to have connects cleaned.

Glad it looks like you will get to use your Monty. I agree, battery first. Then go through de-winterizing. Make sure the anode rod is screwed into your water heater, make sure all valves are set correctly,( bypass and winterize valves), then hook up your hose. Run water through each faucet, including washer faucet even if you don't have a washer. Then, once water heater is full, check to make sure it heats. Turn on fridge and make sure it works. Check air in tires. Replace batteries in all remotes. Then check all electronics. Check seal in toilet that it holds water. Take a break and have something to drink. Go on roof and check out things up there. Clear any debris. Now, give Monty a thorough cleaning inside and out. Stabilizers and front jacks working good? Pack up and go camping. Hope this helps.
