Airbed Hide-a-bed

Has anyone had problems with the storage drawer under the airmattress? We have had ours break apart twice. Only store two blankets, set of sheets and maatress pad. Had it fixed under warranty once and will be taking it in again. Has only been used for one week!!!!

I know it will not stay closed during travel. Ours is always open when we get where we are going. Probably whats tearing it apart!

we added child safety latches to keep ours closed. It works but is awkward.

Same problem here, drawer would slide out in transit and ripped the slide track apart. Cured that problem by cutting a 12 inch chunk of 4x6 diagonally with my sawsall. Would be easier and neater with a band saw. I just slide it under the front of the drawer before we close the slides for travel, hasn't failed to stay shut since... Dave P.S. Don't forget to remove it before walking by in bare feet, stubbed my toes several times.

No problem with ours (yet). DW packs it full with bedding stuff. After a little over a year, 6000 miles, and 50 nights it has not failed, nor has it ever come open traveling. It is a little hard to open it when I want it open. I guess that explains why it has not come open traveling.

Some one on the site came up with the idea of just wedging a pillow under the drawer, works good for us. You can't stub your toe on a pillow

Dick,
Good idea, but are you kidding!! I'd trip over the pillow and hit my head on the corner of the wall!!!

Edited: You could also get a strap from Academy or similar place and run it around the back of couch and drawer. You could figure out how to tuck the strap under the front, and have it also handy at the back. Just click and pull the end tight and you are done.

Here is what I did to mine to keep it from coming out while on the road. It is something like Wayne mentions. The strap had a plastic loop on one end and is looped around the metal bar at the top of the drawer and is attached to the front of the drawer with one of those metal attachments used to secure shades to RV windows and windshields. Cost about $1.50 at a flee market in Yuma. Hope the link isn't too long.

On edit: I'm having problems linking I'll try something else.

Lets try this one: http://i35.tinypic.com/23msj9u.jpg
