Pin Box

The only one for me is Demco... I had a MorRyde and there is no comparison.

I have that same hitch (you can get it from the factory on a Ram). it is certainly far better than the Reese Pro we had before it!

Yes but changing hitches is going to cost a lot more than changing out the hitch pin. Besides I am VERY happy with our current Curt Q25. I'm just trying to decide which of a $500 change (hitch pin or air bags) would help the most.

Nothing wrong with the Trailair based on what I have heard and if the Curt gives out in 100K miles or so we may well consider it.

Air bags will do nothing for the clunking (fore and aft jerking) felt while towing. All they will do is level the truck and reduce some of the bounce with the truck suspension.

Couple of years ago, we went from a Reese Hitch and TrailAir Tri-glide with Air Bag King Pin to a MORryde King Pin and Comfort Ride Hitch and made 150% improvement.
The Comfort Ride is similar to an Air Ride Hitch, but without the need for Air.

IMHO the AirRide pin is a great addition. If your truck does not need the support for leveling skip the truck bags, but i highly recommend Bilstein 5100 shocks for weight control

I have told him I am happy with the mor RYDE, since I don't get much chucking at all. I think he still wants a little more info in comparison with the Air Ride, since that one is a little more expensive...
thanks
I just bought a Trailair Flex Air 5th Wheel Pin Box - Lippert 1621 - 18,000 lbs
watched a lot of videos on it. Bought it from Etrailer,
They have a match others price and pay you 110%
The difference! Tweetie price was about $80 dollars
Cheaper. Plus 10% more. Free shipping and no tax 😜
Just finishing up to day putting new Provider 215/75R17.5. H. With kodiak disk brakes. 😎

Last year 1/2 way into a 7,000 mile trip our backs were "toast" because of all the chucking and bucking. Had a Reese 5th Airborn shipped to the Campground and installed it. Remainder of the trip was totally smooth...all of the chucking and bucking was gone.

Just finished 9,120 mile loop of America, I 80 east from Calif. to I 76 in Ohio to Hershey, PA. Then Philadelphia, down I 95 to St. Augustine, I 10 to LA, and I 5 to Sacramento. Some very bad roads and bridge transitions, didn't even know the trailer was there!

Ill pass all this along to my buddy, thanks!

I like the sounds of the Reese Airborne Sidewinder, but it maxes out at 16,000 LBS, I need more. I know that my GVWR is 16,800. Im not gonna play a game where i have to watch my weight., I have had my unit weighed, and im around 14,500 for most trips, but fully loaded im around that 15,500 mark. If the trailer has a GVWR that high, the pin box would need to be at the same or higher. All good info Ill pass along, I have the mor ryde, and while im sure there is better, this came with my camper, and I have not had any problems , or excessive chucking where I feel the need to replace it. My buddy just has a standard pin box.

I have the Montana 2018 3701 LK and towed it with a F-250. Found out it's really not enough for that trailer. You are right at the tow capacity for that vehicle. Plus over on the pin weight. I bumped it up to the F-350 and found it tows it without effort. You will find out the first time you get into the mountains.

We live in the mountains of North Arkansas. Your spot on. Folks that don't tow mountains much really don't understand what it is like to start down a steep pass and suddenly realize you don't have enough truck!! That's why we have the 1 ton dually diesel!
