Removing headboard on Montana 3760

My wife wants me to remove the headboard on the Montana. Has anyone else done this and is it easy to do? The last thing I want to do is damage the wall or be left with alot of glue residue. She is thinking about adding something in its place that is light weight but I am concerned with mounting anything due to the nature of the RV walls.

Thanks

Robert

I haven't checked out how keystone attaches the headboard, but I would bet that it is only held in place by the buttons. Try doing the "lefty-loosey" on a button to see if it is screw backed...or the other labor/time/cost method, velcro. John

Thank's John, I'll try that. Any other experience or advice out there?

I haven't had a need to remove ours, but I believe I read on some forum that the buttons are used to cover the heads of the screws that retain the headboard.

So doesn't look like anyone has removed theirs then? I would just as soon leave my own the wall but the wife hates it. Lol

I have only worked on ours because it came loose. Our headboard consists of a formed (in an arch) piece of thin plywood covered with padded fabric. It was fastened to the wall with three wood screws that were hidden by the folds in the fabric padding. When one side fell down (noticed it was sagging), I found a screw on that side had come loose and the reason it had a noticeable sag was that the middle screw had also fallen out. Since we didn't like the way the wall looked so empty. I just screwed it back into the wall by removing the existing screws and finding new places to attach the headboard with these screws still hidden by the fabric folds.

Not sure if your headboard is that unexotic, but it's what we have in our old 2006 trailer.
