Give it a little tug see if that will make it extend

My awning made the same clicking sound last year. Worked fine until it was extended one day then it started doing its clicking thing. Found out mine was getting voltage but motor was bad. If yours is bad too, be aware they are expensive, but it's an easy install.

As said, try to help it extend by tugging on one of the arms as someone operates the switch in the extend direction. I am making the assumption that it has worked before...so it isn't that the wiring on the switch is reversed...that you are pushing the switch for extend not retract. Our unit came with a strap that can be fed into the extra groove in order to use it manually. You may want to unplug the motor from its power feed cable, in the forward arm near the roller tube, and use the awning that way a few times to see if there is a big resistance to the awning moving in either direction. I seem to remember that you have to remove a screw in the tube to convert it to operate in manual mode. Read the manual or go to the manufacturer's website. For sure...tug on both arms as you are operating the switch. John
