Thinking about it is just the beginning, perhaps the thinking should evolve into consideration of stepping up and deciding that being a wagonmaster is the next logical step and a worthy task to undertake. I believe it was mentioned by Steve at last years rally that it was hoped that a new member of the MOC would step up and take over the duties for this year. As we know, the organization of the rally is the critical aspect of the planning process. Everyone always chips in, so the need is more of a managing role. Selection of a campground, facilitating the reservation process, recruiting sponsors if possible, research of the local area selected, etc. etc. My experiences have always been rewarding when setting up this rally in the past, and I have never had to leave the comfort of our living room when making all the arrangements, a few phone calls, a few e-mails, and posting on the MOC are the basic tasks involved. Here is hoping that Steve's (perhaps that should read Carla??) request is honored by some noble, step-up, get-r-dun MOCer!!

That would be great if someone would "step up" and be willing to head it up this next year. We will help however we can. Carla inventoried everything and put it in a rubber tub so we don't need to purchase too many supplies. First step is identifying the wagonmaster, then deciding where we want to have it. I'm open for suggestions...

Thank you Phil. As Bingo said, everybody pitches in to make it a great rally. So thanks should go out to everyone that did anything from cooking, bringing door prizes, or to just attending. What a great time was had by all. And all of the thanks should go to the One that provided it all for us, GOD. Carla and I that everyone has a great Christmas and can't wait to see you all again.

OK, here goes. Vickie and I will host the Mid-Atlantic Rally this year. Larry & Pat Sessoms will be assisting us. We've had it in Virginia, West Virginia and North Carolina in recent years so it's about time we had it in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The dates will be August 16th (arrival) to August 21st (departure). It will be held at Willow Tree RV resort in Longs, S.C. close to North Myrtle Beach. We have a block of 25 sites reserved. There are a ton of things to do in the area. Depending on the interest shown, we can get discounts for golf, shows, boat trips, etc. The park will give a 10% discount on their rates for the rally and if anyone cares to arrive a couple of days early or stay a couple of days later, the discount will still apply. One word of caution, if you try to pull up their site layout map, it's been infected with a virus that they are aware of and are working on it.
Post here if you are interested in attending and we'll start to make a list.

Looking at the rates where on the list is the rally at? Fun sites, Lake front, etc. Where would the Monty fit? Looking at the dates for perhaps a possible joining the fun.

We would like to attend, but will have to check the school schedule for the youngest one. Preliminary thoughts are it doesn't look promising since school started this past year on Aug. 18th and looking at a Calendar for 2012 leads me to believe that the 16th will be the first day of school. We probably won't be able to find out for sure until early summer when the school board announces the schedule.
