AC Thermostat

I have a 2005 Montana with Dometic air conditioner and a remote control thermostat, the thermostat board has burn out twice and now I would like to know if I can change the type of thermostat

Thank you for any help you can provide

I had the remote unit on my '05 3295RK and hated it--I replaced it with the Dometic five button digital thermostat and control unit--it is a pretty easy change out but I had to go on line to find out how to boot up the unit--I don't have any of the particulars here at home but I can get them for you if needed--- I called Dometic with the model and serial number of my AC unit and was told which kit I needed--I also bought that kit from Dometic--I would not go back to the old remote setup at all--this new kit works like a charm

You can only replace it with the Dometic "Comfort Control Center". This requires a new circuit board in the AC, but seems to work well once the change has been made. There is a huge amount of info on this in the Forum archives. Try doing a search on "remote thermostat". At one time, Dometic were providing the repacement parts free, but I'm not sure that they would still do this.

The replacement from Dometic is the correct way to go as OntMont said. We also changed ours out and have been trouble free since. Dometic is very good at helping you out.
