Long bed holds more stuff. That is a good thing.

Long bed crew cab dually for me. No worries when make tight turns or backing. Plus when I'm not towing the camper I remove the hitch and I can fit full sheets of plywood, dry wall or 2x4's and close the tail gate. I met a few people that had to buy short beds because a long bed won't fit in their garage. I had to measure the length of my garage first before I bought mine. Made it by about 6 inches plus it's a dually so my 2 car garage is now a 1 truck garage...
Garage for a truck? What a foreign concept!

Yeah I know...it's also my daily driver. The price these trucks cost, if I could fit it in my bed I would..

For me its the long bed. I have a 2003 F-350 crew cab. With the long bed I have a tool box in back of the cab that clears the 5'er when turning, for incidentals I don't want in the cab or 5th wheel. Also, I am able to put 8' sheets of plywood, lumber, sheetrock or whatever when not towing. The only disadvantage I have to say is, PARKING, good thing we have a handicap placard for my wife's issues, it helps. Also, the long bed seems to be a little smoother driving. We will put the backseat down for our traveling companion Max. Backseat is all his, lol.

For resale, I would think a long bed would sell better, just like 4x4 here in the Northwest sells better. My truck has always been garaged with about 1 1/2 inches to spare. Long bed for me.

We have always had the short bed Chevy's SRW and I have never had to use my slider one time in the past 12 years. I can see advantages with either long or short, for us the short bed wins out.
