Slide topper on 2015 3910FB
I have a 3910FB that came from the factory with slide toppers.
I have one on the front slide that is too long, it hangs over the rear of the slide by a full 8 inches and the front rear support is only about 2 inches into the support bracket on the slide. I have been to two dealers and they agree that it is too long and the support might fail down the road.
It also sags and holds water when it rains and dumps it right at the front door
Both dealers have contacted Keystone and sent measurements and photos, but Keystone denies the claim.
Anyone with a 3910FB having the same issues?
Cliff

No problem with our 3910FB.. Toppers sized correctly. Do get a little sagging in heavy rain. Not much you can do about the slide next to the front door because of the tight clearance between the topper and the awning.

Our 2015 340RL came with slide toppers from the factory. There are 4 slides three on one side that drain water very well. The dining room slide will hold rain more than I like and will sag after a down pour. All I do is shut off the other three slide and cycle the big slide and we are ready to go, till the next rain!
All out slide toppers seem to fit perfectly too. I do have one question, can the dealer increase the tension in the factory toppers?

Both dealers say there is no adjustment on tension. Like yours it is the dining room slide that gathers water and dumps it right at the front door. if you are not lucky you get a shower going in or out of the coach. I too cycle the slide to get rid of the water, but something you should not have to do on a new 70K coach.

There is adjustment on the tension. I have helped do adjustments on them. Unless in this specific case, the topper is already maximized out re tightness. Tension adjustment process is the same as for an awning adjustment.

I just replaced all 4 slide toppers on my 2008 3400RL after bad weather destroyed all of them about 5 weeks ago. Dometic says each spring should be wound to 13 turns. The fabric manufacturer recommended giving the springs an additional "couple" turns to mitigate aged springs. I wound mine to 18 turns and have eliminated a lot of "flapping" in moderate wind and so far I have had no water accumulate on any of them. There IS an adjustment for tension, but you've got to remove each one and rewind the springs. This can be a hazardous undertaking because the springs are under A LOT of tension.

The toppers will sag a bit as they collect water they are designed that way so the weight of the water does not damage them. Most dinning room toppers are strategically placed so that they dump excess water right on the exit door steps. Like they say ..it is part of Rv'ing.

We used to have an older rig that dumped water from a slide topper on the door. After the rain stopped, I got in the habit of getting on the roof and sweeping the water off that topper...away from the door.

I stick a beach ball in the center of the dinning room slide. That creates a high point that stops water acumalation.

we did the beach ball thing in Arizona during a winter stay. In a wind gust the ball shoot out of the topper like a cannon and we never saw it again.

And you have be careful what you shove under the topper so you don't stretch the material and create a permanent sag.
