I don't know what style you have but on many strip type leds, every so many inches there is a cut line where you can splice together. look at it close, you might see where it lost it's connection with the rest of the strip

Are these the rather inexpensive Chinese leds?

and yes, you can cut at the solder joint and re-attach. Also a new set on ebay runs about 20 bucks

I just purchased 3 different 16' strips off of Amazon; amber, warm white and multi-color. Two strips were less than $7 bucks each and colored strip was $9. Hope that they all work well. Only time will tell.

Like RacerJoe said look at the splice point between the last good and bad light, the strip was probably creased there and the joint cracked. Someone with a little soldering experience and a soldering pen can scrape through the waterproofing and re-solder it for you.

They do but I've found it's easier to just bridge the connection with a bit of solder rather than try to do all four unless absolutely necessary. I forgot to mention but it should be obvious to re-seal with a little clear RTV. The circuit board is rather thin so use as little heat as possible, a soldering gun is probably too much.

I did find a splice connector worked well but when I made the splice lights came on for another 4 ft and out again!
So I am going to replace the 16 ft section to do that I removed the light strip from the 3m adhesive can not reuse adhesive not easy to remove from trailer.if this replacement does not last l8ngere then the original I am giving up 8n LED strip Light!
I might what to mention the brake is not visual

Must be a bad set, I've had mine up for 2 years with only one failure(a crack that I induced putting them up)

I bought the cheap strip lights from China and they worked fine at first. After just a short time they started not acting properly. Now only about 4 feet work. They can be spliced. Check youtube for videos.
