Cable not working

Staying in a great park in Amarillo right now and can't get cable to work in the Monty. Park's maintenance man came by and checked the box outside and everything worked there but cannot get it inside. What am I doing wrong?

Have you tried tuning off the amplifier button in the wardrobe closet.

Is the short coax connected between the cable in and the bedroom. The signal is roated through the bedroom and then back to the living area. You may or may not need to turn off the booster. This short cable is only like 10 inches long.

Mike
PS Call me if this does not work.

Mark not knowing the details of your system there could be a host of things that may be the problem. I'll throw out a couple of things to check.

First thing to check would be the cable from the RV Park cable outlet to your cable in connection at the RV. There could be a bad RF connector on your coax. This happens to most of us at one time or another and it drives us nuts before we figure it out. It also happens with tripod mounted dishes.

Is the amp with the green light shut off.

There are other RF connections behind the RF in connections near your tv. Check those also if the simple things don't work.

Is the tv set for cable or antenna?

Has your cable from the park connections worked previously? If so it sounds like a connector.

I'm sure other will have some great ideas of things for you to check. Chances are it is something simple.

When you say you "Think I got it", do you mean you got it fixed? What was it? Otherwise I can add a few more ideas.

I turned off the Booster and it started working. The TV in the living area is still not working like it should. It's kind of hard to explain on here but I appreciate the help and will take any more suggestions. When you hook up to cable, do you still have to reprogram the TV or just put it on Cable? I'm thinking it's not working like it should but it could all be operator error also. I'll get with my dealer when I get it back home. Thanks.

I'm glad to hear you got it working in the bedroom. On the living room TV, you have to set the TV to know it's on cable rather than antenna. Same as for the bedroom TV. You can manually key in the channel numbers you want but otherwise you'll have to do the channel search. I think that's what you're asking. If not, please clarify for me.

Mark, make sure the TV is in the Cable mode then do an auto Scan for the cable channels. After that it should be OK in the LR. Always remember to do the scan going from Air-Cable, no scan needed for satellite.

Glad you got it working. I know those things can be frustrating at times. I always had to switch cables when going from cable to antenna so recently when I installed the new TV I also installed an “AB” switch. Although I usually like to avoid additional connections I got tired of manually changing the cable wire on the inlet feed each time a change was needed. The switch works great and I was able to re-locate some of the ugly wiring out of the way after installing the switch. I also recommend staying with gold connections then adding wire and connections, splitters, etc… I believe they deliver a better quality picture.

And to think, we had to get up out of the chair to change the channels a long, long time ago.

Wayne, not just getting up to change channels, remember trying to tune each channel in.

Mark, you probably saw it but in the TV setup menu there is an option to tell it you are on antenna or on cable. I'm glad to hear you got it working.

....and worse than getting up to change the channels, or trying to tune the channels, what about where we lived we got only 4 channels even though there were only 12 positions (2-13) and one of them was Spanish and even I don't speak Spanish. We were supposed to have 5 but we could never get that last one in. And there were some places that got less. HA HA.

We are so spoiled that what hurts today is when we can't even get one and there are hundreds available.

We are very happy for you maphillips!
