Outside Access Cord and hose Hatch in Convenience Center

Just wondering what anybody does to close off the space around the house and cable hatch in the convenience center to keep mice and other critters out. Looking for something simple yet effective.

Thanks

I took a rubber roof stack, cut the metal flashing off, cut slits in the end as needed, turned it upside down and installed in the large convenience center opening. Easy, cheap, and works.

I took a new accordion type plunger, unscrewed the handle, cut the upper part (where the handle had been) to widen the opening, cut the lower part to fit the hose (had to cut slits into the sides) and "screwed" it into the opening. The hose goes into this as needed to attach to the water inlet.

Not my original idea - I stole it! It does work.

Wait, isn't having the convenience center enough to keep critters out? They can get to the convenience center, but not inside, right???

Mine as a gap between the end of the convenience center wall and cargo door allowing critter access to cargo area....

Huge gaps in my center. I stuffed two mechanic rags in around the hose and cable but need something better.

I cut a plug the diameter of the hatch from 2" thick closed cell foam like is used for packing/shipping electronic equipment. I cut a slot in it the size of my water hose. The plug is actually slightly larger than the hatch so it makes a tight friction fit.

This is NOT the white styrofoam that becomes a snow storm when you break/cut/touch it. This foam is very firm, yet compressible, usually black or gray, but can be most any color.
