Installing Dryer vent
Hi everyone, we are new members & we are hoping you can help us with installing a dryer vent in our 2011 Keystone Montana 3750FL 5th wheel. We are in the process of buying this RV & it does have a w/d closet but it's set up for a combo ventless unit & I have a new stackable washer dryer so need some advice on
cutting that hole thru the outside fiberglass.

When You drill the vent hole through the wall be careful about the placement of the studs in the wall. We bought our unit used and when the original owner had the Splendide stack installed The installer drilled right into one of the wall studs. He must have just measured for a straight line through the wall from the dryer outlet. he just barely cut into the stud and then moved the hole over a couple of inches to miss the stud. The flexible vent pipe is a bit difficult to get reconnected to the dryer and slide it in place without it coming loose. It has been a couple of years since I have removed the dryer, If I remember correctly I believe I took the vent cover off the outside and reached through the hole to clamp it to the dryer then pulled the pipe through the hole and clamped it to the vent cover. I was then able to push the dryer in place and reattach the vent cover to the outside wall.
I believe I have read in other posts that you can find the studs on the outside walls by looking for the condensation that sometimes will form on the outside wall where the studs are located.
I am sure others can provide more info also.

I have a stud finder that is selectable for wood or metal studs. Don't know if that would work for your Monte or not.

I thought of that but wasn't sure if it would work for the wiring if any in that location.....
