Antique Tractor Buffs

We are recently retired and are planning on "snowbirding" next winter in the Rio Grande Valley.
We collect, restore and show antique tractors here at home (southeast Iowa)and would really like to meet people with the same interest. Are there any such folks on the MOC site that share the same interest? Let us hear from you.

If you're referring to an interest in Iowa, my hubby is an avid fan. Glen was born and raised in New Hampton (northeast). Seriously, I know you're referring to your interest in antique tractors and that is a great hobby. I grew up in Illinois where there is a big interest in them.

We're glad you found the forum. Welcome. Have you checked out the thread on the Rio Grande Valley and signed up in the directory? We're hoping to have some coordinated events and would love to know where to find you.

I love old tractors and machinery. I grew up on a farm in western Wisconsin. Unfortunately, after college we have been living in urban areas with out room to enjoy a full fledged hobby in antique machinery. My sole antique possession is an "E" model John Deere stationary engine. I do try to make the shows throughout the midwest when we are traveling.

As a matter of fact I helped my father-in-law restore a 1959 330U John Deere 2 years ago. There were only 247 produced and he has one of only a handful that have been found and restored. In fact the tractor has been in the family ever since it was new. My father-in-law lives in Ky. and shows the tractor at many shows.
