No heat !!
I have a new 2018 3920fb. I’m planning a trip for New Years and then another trip to the Grand Canyon after the New Years. Considering it going to be cold I decided to try the furnace. The main living thermostat works fine. The one in the front bedroom not so much. The thermostat says it on but the furnace is not going on. Not sure if its the thermostat, or some sort of relay at the furnace. CW did tell me they replaced both thermostats. CW thinks it is at the furnace and the thermostat is fine. It warrantied and I’m scheduled to take it in just wondering if this would be something easy I could do and save the trip to CW.
Thoughts...?
Thank you
Tony

Our front bedroom thermostat does not control the furnace. It only controls the front A/C. Only our main Living Room thermostat works the furnace, main A/C and heat pump.

The change from Fahrenheit to Celsius (plus other issues) has been an issue for a while. Dometic knows it and they are replacing the faceplate (the source of the problem). Take a look HERE and look at Posts #37, 38, 41, and then, the money shot, #44.
As for the heater issue, I don't have a new unit with two thermostats, but I thought only the main thermostat would control the furnace heater. I doubt the furnace could comprehend two different temperature settings from two separate thermostats.

As stated by the last 2 posts....only the MAIN thermostat operates the furnace/ac/heat pump. The bedroom thermostat operates the bedroom a/c only. While using the heat pump/ac on main thermostat, you will still feel some air movement in the bedrooms they share the same air plenum.

Ok so I think I got it figured out. My question is the basement vent behind the vent it is not hooked up to any hvac. Does it just vent passively? Oh man you guys just saved me a trip to CW lol

You guys are the best thank you !!!
One thing I did see I removed one of the walls in the basement right next to the water heater and noticed a hvac line going down. I’m assuming it is heating the underside to keep the pipes from freezing..?

That line is from the furnace and is intended to keep things from freezing. We have been in single digit temps and with the furnace running, nothing froze. Of course, when it gets that cold, you tend to burn a lot of propane, but it's still better than having plumbing freeze to the point of serious damage.

Winter travel I Arizona
Hi Last2Die:
We are full timers for the last 14 years , 11 of them to Mesa for the winter. Many new RVers make the mistake of thinking it will be warm around the Grand Canyon during the winter months. It is NOT. Our advise to our friends who chose to come South and visit the Grand Canyon is to make the trip late March or April when it starts to heat up in Northern Arizona. Just saying, check the weather channel.
Happy trails and Merry Christmas.

Heat
I have the 381 toy hauler and my thermostats work the same way except the bedroom is in the rear. Took a while to figure them out. Also Im not getting much if at all heat blowing into the rear bedroom and bathroom and wonder if its a common problem with that model? Didn't find any leaks in the duct work??

We just purchased a 2018 381th and had a similar problem. The rear stat would only turn the rear ac unit on, and when in furnace mode nothing happened . It also did not show the heat pump setting. The stat in the main living area would also run just the front ac unit. I traded the thermostats around and the non bedroom stat now turns on the furnace and shows a heat pump setting as well. Are there two different models of thermostats? Are both ac units capable of being a heat pump? I tried to get some answers from Keystone but they just referred me to the manual which is useless.
Thanks.

Heat
I hear you loud and clear. Their manuals suck. I had a forest river unit before this one and had excellent manuals. Don't know about the T stats but Im living with the way it is now. How bout the heat flow to the bedroom? Is yours very weak also?

The only thermostat that is tied to the furnace is the one in the kitchen. The one in the bedroom is only connected to the roof AC. There is nothing wrong with the camper. We had a repair person come out and explain this to us.

I would suggest getting a small space heater for the front bath. We have been on the road with our 3921FB for 6 months and the front bath is really cold when the weather changes. We added a small electric heater and it is wonderful!
