Ours is getting made next week (!!!) so I'll watch for that when we finally get it or when I visit one on the lot. I never noticed before.

If I'm not mistaken, most 3/4 ton trucks max out right around the 380/381's GVWR of 17,000 lb. So you MIGHT be able to but you'd be taking your truck to the limits of its safe capabilities, or maybe even exceeding them.

I'm not going to get into the debate of what a truck CAN do versus what it may or may not be SAFE to do, but a wise person suggested I get a 1 ton dually and I did.

You are wise in doing so

We love ours. I should since I came up with the concept

3/4 vs 1 ton threads start a war on here but there are several threads you can read. If your asking for my personal oppion, get a1 ton diesel dually. I am a long time Ford fan but when I went diesel I got a Ram because of the Cummins Allison power train and the factory available 25k hitch with 4 point puck mounting system. It’s a beast. You will want a cushioned hitch pin on this model and moyrride steps (the kind that hinge to the inside of door)

I'm with you on the pin box, but why the Morryde steps? I thought the steps that come with it seem to be pretty good!

Not ours. They are springboard junk and on uneven ground we can't even deploy the bottom step!

I'm just wondering in what year that Ram (Cummins) started using an Allison transmission?

They don't it's an Aisin xmission, the Allison is "wishfull thinking" of many Ram/Cummin owners. But reading reports the Aisin is a great xmission.

Pin box ~~ I may wait until the rally in Sept and see what vendors are there but still leaning toward MorRide.
I'm pleased with the OEM steps. On storing them inside ~ not preferred. Adjusting feet to the ground ~~ Pulling it down,, nope. When they come into the 21st century with auto deploy/retract send me a text.

But you have to pull out and unfold the pen steps which is harder. Don’t take this as ugly but honestly some of the excuses I hear not to get the substantially stronger steps are fairly lame

However bending to the idea that you might get a tiny amount of water or dirt on the entryway when you store the steps . Perhaps the best idea would be for the keystone to develop heavy duty steps that stored just under the floor that you pulled out and dropped down?

I buy about anything for convenience or if I see a better idea. I find the change neither. No excuses from here, find me something better and I'm all in, those IMO do not qualify.

We will have to agree to disagree on this one. I think the moyrride steps are substantially better than OEM

Our brand new 381TH is made and sitting in a holding lot in Indiana waiting for delivery!!! In excited anticipation we're creating a list of upgrades to prepare for. Already have Sailun tires and a new pinbox. Next is a little item. An area rug for the living room.

What size is best suited to fill the space between the sofas and between the recliners and fireplace? 5x8, 6x9, 8x10, other?

X2 on the congrats!

On the rug issue you will likely have to roll it up every time since it will interfere with the slides

Thanks guys. I LOVED the Ram for the 2 months I owned it, but (very long story very short) I needed a TV with a gross weight of LESS than 6000 kg to avoid having to upgrade my license and maintain logbooks, etc. Unfortunately I didn't know this until it was too late. All's well though. Loving the NEW new ride and can't wait to tow the TH... legally!

Rolling up is expected. But we tend to remain stationary for long stretches which is why we're looking for something and trying to determine the correct size.
