What RV club do you belong to?
There seems to be a never ending supply of RV clubs and organizations out there. We joined the MOC for the education it provides. We joined Good Sam's to take advantage of the discounts and got a bonus of that free junk, I mean bulk mail.
We were curious to hear from you. What group(s) do you belong to and why?

We are members of SMARTS (retired military) and Good Sams. Although we enjoy traveling on our own, we enjoy meeting with other people that share common interests. Since joining the Good Sam chapter, we now get together to play cards and golf and work with several friends on Habitat for Humanity.

Moc - Because we love the people and the forum.
Escapees - Because we are full timers and this is a great organization to belong to. They also have super people that we have become very close to and meet up with several times along our travels.
Good Sam - We use a lot of their services including the road service.
Passport America - 50% discount on campgrounds can get your membership dues back real fast when you are on the road 324/7 365 days a year.
KOA- Only because we have to stay in their campgrounds a few times a year. Not one we really want to belong to but every year something comes up where we find ourselves needing to use one of their parks and it is cheaper to buy the membership than not.

Strange we have belonged to Good Sam for years and get little mail from them. We also belong to a local camping group. Check to see if there is one in your area. Local camping groups will usually camp within a 1 or so hour from the home base and provides a means to weekend camp with other campers. We also belong to the Family Campers and Rv'ers (FCRV
www.fcrv.org A large international organization (USA & Canada) They have rallies all over the country as well as local, state and regional...This is were you learn about Campers....And of course the M.O.C.. The recent FCRV rally in Mobile, Al had near 400 units (we were number 322)Being with that many campers is a experience not to be missed. Although the MOC is great source of information about the Montana. The FCRV group is where I learned about the differences in brand of campers and where you can examine up close the quality, workmanship, fit and finish. It puts things in the proper prospective. Belonging to different organizations and camping with different groups.IMO broadens your horizons.

MOC: Enjoy meeting and communicating with the members about the Montanas.
SMART: Retired and active military members club. Simular activity with the rallys.
PASSPORT: Love the 50% discounts.
RPI and enjoy america: Also discounts on campgrounds.
GOOD SAM: Camping with friends and meeting new ones at Samborees, roadside service, and insurance.
Thousand Trails and Outdoor World Membership: Extensive use of both memberships on the east coast campgrounds. Especially in the winter in Florida.

For us -
Good Sam for the reasons you mentioned.
Passport America - 50% discount at participating parks. There are length of stay restrictions on many of these but not all. We've been members for more than 10 years and always recoup the annual fee within the first month of two of the year.
Escapees - 15% at participating parks plus even better at certain parks.
AARP - discounts, usually 10% or 15%, at some parks.
President's Club - 10% off on Camping World merchandise.

MOC, Good Sam, PA, C2C, ROD, AOR. We joined the membership parks when working and could afford the downstroke. Now we are enjoying the benefits of low cost and free (ROD) nightly rates. Our children and grandchildren can also use them.

We are members of The Good Sam Club and we also use there emergency road service, The Presidents Club at Camping World, and The Highland Rim Travelers RV Club. This is a club that we started with three couples and we now have 43 couples! We subscribe to Highways, Trailer Life, Motor Home, FMCA, Roughing It Smoothly, RV View, and Extreme RV magazines. We try to keep up with what is going on in the rv world. Hope this helps.

Everyone will have different needs for their needs to belong to different clubs.
We are fulltimers and knew right out that we would use memberships differently than most because we prefer to boondock instead of staying at RV parks.
We paid $3800, for a package membership from Sunrise Resorts. This package comes with ROD, RPI, Coast-to-Coast, and Enjoy America. This package has worked out so well for us. We typically will boondock until we need resources, and then off to one of these parks for a few days, and then back to our freedom.
Some may say that $3800 is a lot of money for a lifetime membership. Most parks average cost is $25 per night. So, it will take us 152 nights to pay for the lifetime package, pretty easy for a fulltimer. Typically, we pay either $1 a night for Sunrise resorts, $8 a night for RPI, C2C….the DW knows more details. Annual dues are $140.
Last month, we spent $32 total for RV space. The previous month was $24.
Hope this helps.
