Dust and More Dust
Has anyone else had an issue with dust on the inside of their 5th wheel? I can dust one day and the next day it needs it again. I keep the air vents cleaned.

Many complain about sawdust. Not as bad as some other threads I watch though. I have been in and behind every nook and cranny that did not take a major removal and only found a little sawdust when cleaning the main AC/HP filters the 1st time.

Unless you can figure a way to filter furnace air or even just their ducting, you will have whatever dust enters the basement storage area. My DW constantly complains that 10 minutes after she has wiped everything down, some of it's back. As a matter of fact, even that cold air return will let any basement dust in but if it's anything like our HC, you can pull the vent covers (on the step risers or the forward wall), an make up a filter from one purchased at any hardware or big box store.
A ponderable - why is an RVs a/c air (kinda) filtered and the furnace air not ? Hmmm

It's a constant problem if you spend any time in the west or midwest. High winds and dusty conditions outside will end up in the rig. These things are not air tight.

I can't wait til we get to pollen season here in SE Texas. Our new 5r will be coated inside and out. I've seen the air west side of 1097 bridge turn pale green when the wind picks up.

I suspect the reason is the fins on the A/C units are very close together and will clog up very easy if the return air is not filtered, but the heaters develop very high heat and will burn off any lint or dust that gets into the air system of the heater. The following is from the Atwood heater manual, and listed as one of the "The 4 Always".
#4 - RETURN AIR
The return air passage should meet the minimum square
inches as specified for the particular model of furnace in the
installation instructions. This air passage should also be
clean and clear of obstructions. Do not put air filters in this
passage way. Also make sure that combustibles are not
stored in the furnace compartment.

Our 3820FK has small openings in the weather striping at back window that lets dust in.

Choose your life, choose your attitude. If you are retired, its all vacation with the right attitude whether you are in S&B or on the road. If you are still working, no its not a vacation unless you are on the road as a break.
